STANLEY Security employees prepare for the gruelling 100km challenge

For the second year running, James Clark, Mark Walker, Jason Wescombe, Clive Hudson and support driver John Ensten will take on the challenge to complete the Trailwalker in aid of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Trailwalker UK is an endurance race where teams of four attempt to complete a 100km walk across South Downs Way in under 30 hours. Organised in partnership with Oxfam, Trailwalker is the ultimate in long-distance challenges.

d147fc01 16ea 4ace 8329 eefaf3473842James Clark,  General Manager, National and Key Accounts at STANLEY Security said: “The Trailwalker challenge is a very intense course due to the distance and the changes in altitude. The challenge is a great way to test our limits.  Money raised will help support the worthwhile work Oxfam and Gurkha Welfare Trust do to tackle poverty around the world.”

The race starts at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, and the Trailwalker route takes teams along the South Downs Way all the way to the finish line at Brighton Racecourse.

Trailwalker started out as a military training exercise in Hong Kong in 1981. Organised by the Queen’s Gurkha Signals, and taking place along the famous Maclehose Trail, the activity sought to test the endurance and teamwork of soldiers of the Queen’s Gurkha Signals over a long and arduous course. Since the return of the brigade of Gurkhas to the UK in 1997, the Queen’s Gurkha Signals sought to continue the tradition of Exercise Trailwalker.

The STANLEY Security Team have been busy fundraising and hope to raise £2,000 for this good cause. If you would like to donate, visit please
