What ISO 9001:2015 accreditation means for STANLEY Security & its customers

STANLEY Security has always been committed to delivering quality at all levels, from products through to services.  We have been accredited to the BS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Standard for many years but this year we are delighted to announce we have been awarded ISO 9001:2015 accreditation – the very latest standard.

INTERVIEW: Ashley Hickling, Sales Executive - Senior Account Manager.

In the security industry quality product is vital, of course, but the adage that ‘people buy from people’ is never truer as organisations rely on us to keep them safe and secure.  And we have some great people, that’s for sure!  We’d like to introduce you to one of them - Ashley Hickling, Sales Executive - Senior Account Manager.

INTERVIEW Stephen Hodgkinson-Soto, STANLEY Security GB Service Director

August will mark one year in the post of Service Director GB for Stephen Hodgkinson-Soto.  A lot can happen in a year, so we put some questions to Stephen to see what his key achievements have been to date.

FEATURE: By Derek McLean, Head of Technology Solutions at STANLEY Security GB

Over half of all companies in the Fortune 500* have gone bankrupt, been acquired or ceased to exist since the beginning of the millennia.  What’s more, it’s predicted that a further 40% will follow the same path in the next decade.  Never, it would seem, has the phrase ‘Innovate or Die!’ been more apt.

FEATURE: Security systems for building access

Restricted access sites that have a large number of vehicles entering and leaving are tricky to manage from a safety and security perspective.  You don’t want to impede the flow of traffic, yet at the same time you want to ensure only authorised vehicles are gaining access.

STANLEY Security recently completed a security installation for a logistics company facing this exact dilemma.  The market leading company delivers several million customer orders nationwide every year and has a network of premises and a substantial fleet of delivery vehicles to make this possible.

The existing security arrangements at one of their sites was proving insufficient to deal with the increasing number of HGVs and vans. STANLEY Security was asked to provide a suitable solution.

Having reviewed the site and its operation in considerable detail, we designed not only a security scheme for the company but also an improved traffic flow for the site.  A new customer for STANLEY Security, they were pleased with our recommendations and the installation proceeded at a rapid pace.

barrierwebThere are three separate vehicle access points at the site; one for HGVs, one for delivery vans and the other for staff.  There is also one separate HGV exit.  We have installed traffic barriers at each of these locations, along with PAC proximity access control and Videx intercom systems.  A CCTV camera has also been fitted at each of the incoming access points.

Now when vehicles attend site authorised staff gain fast access via the PAC access control system and, as it’s proximity based, do not need to leave their vehicles; the barrier automatically opens for them.  Visitors, on the other hand, request access using the intercom which the gatekeeper then actions.

All security equipment feeds back to an on-site security room.

The solution is a simple, but effective one.  It’s also highly affordable, thanks in part to STANLEY AssureSTANLEY Assure is STANLEY Security’s finance solution that provides customers with up to date security technology without the risks of ownership and with evenly spread, manageable payment terms.

stanley security assure finance Through STANLEY Assure, we buy back a company’s existing equipment at its residual or market value and take over that security system (regardless of whether we have supplied it or not).  We then upgrade it to an agreed value to ensure it meets a customer’s needs and incorporates the latest security technology.  We then they hire it back to the customer on evenly spread, manageable payment terms. It provides an affordable means of upgrading a complete security system and removes the need to justify and raise significant capital outlay in a depreciating asset.  It’s also good for cash flow as you know exactly what you’re paying each month.

For this particular client, the agreement is for a four-year period.
